As long as Bernie Ecclestone continues to be at the helm of Formula 1 he is likely to scoop this award every year as the old man has long past his sell buy date, but continues to hang in there apparently intent on destroying everything he built.
His comments apparently designed solely for capturing headlines are becoming stale, his public disdain for the current formula is short-sighted and counter productive, his archaic divide and conquer strategy has become increasingly ineffective and increasingly threatens the future and image of the sport.
Ecclestone has done nothing to groom or even encourage a successor, perhaps fueled by belief in his own immortality.
Whatever the case the guy who took the sport to the forefront of global television, turned drivers and teams into household names is the very same chap who is steering the Formula 1 ship towards a very big iceberg while the powerless (stupid?) passengers sit on their deck chairs watching the white mass approach with silly smirks on their collective faces.
The old man must go and the sooner the better - if not then same time next year this award will most likely go to him again.
On a side note: Dietrich Mateschitz and herd of bulls were worthy second place villains as their treatment of Renault - who very recently powered them to eight world titles - was classless and horrid to say the least.
