This was a no-brainer as McLaren and their renewed partnership with Honda was a disaster from the moment they hit testing early in the year.

Honda, who were mega in their F1 heyday, returned to the pinnacle of the sport totally unprepared and stumbled from one race to another totally lost at sea and devoid of ideas to improve their woeful power unit.
The amount of times they flattered only to deceive became boring, they humiliated Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button - the pair will forever have the 2015 season as a stain on their illustrious achievements in F1.
Much of the blame was pointed at Honda, but McLaren were hardly innocent of the spiral downwards as by all accounts they delivered a substandard chassis.
Confidence eroded with every day of the year and long time sponsors took their money elsewhere while Ron Dennis postured in the McLaren pits like the vain autocrat in Hans Christian Andersen's 'The Emperor's New Clothes'.
Furthermoe the destruction of Kevin Magnussen's Formula 1 career by the team is a by product of a race team who have hopelessly lost their way.
And to think many of us are their fans, but this is not the McLaren of old anymore and for that alone they are the biggest disappointment of the season past.
The only bright side were reading the elaborate prose of Eric Boullier as he tried to explain away the problems, at the end of each day of a grand prix weekend, in the team's press releases. Bravo Eric!
