Formula 1 is
back in Monaco! Fans and lovers can once again experience the most prestigious
event on the motorsport calendar with its tight corners and minimal escape zones to
punish errors instantly. Who are the favorites to win the Grand Prix?
The excitement is also heavy in the
sports betting market as sportsbooks roll out odds for
the race winner and podium spots.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli and George Russel
from Mercedes, Ferrari veteran Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen from Red Bull,
and hometown favorite Charles Leclerc from Ferrari are favorites to win the GP
and at least a podium finish.
The most exciting prospect right now is
Antonelly, the outstanding Italian. Antonelli, still 19, is leading the
championship and has a formidable mid-season run. He won back-to-back in
Canada, Japan, Miami, and China. One of his top skills is the high corner-entry
speed mark.
Hamilton needs no intro. The veteran has
unrivaled street-circuit experience, and historic consistency puts him in the
top echelon of drivers at the GP. The ace driver is rushing in the red
overalls. A podium finish in Monaco will be
the latest after Canada and previous rounds.
For Verstappen, Monaco is a chance to
reclaim his renown as a major force to be reckoned with. The masterfully
precise former champion has an unmatched adaptability once he is on the tracks.
Top drivers and expected finishes
Antonelli, Leclerc, and Russel are expected
to finish in the top 3, making the podium with winner odds from +150, +250, and
+400, respectively. Verstappen and Hamilton are expected to finish 4th and 6th.
Fernando Alonso is expected to finish 21st, with odds of +40000 to win the
race.

Best value bets for a podium finish
Podium spots are not always easy, but are
still easier than the winning spot. Monaco’s narrow streets limit on-track
overtakes, so drivers have to be smarter with pit stops to climb into top
spots. Hamilton and Verstappen are the two best value bets for a podium finish.
- Lewis Hamilton: Hamilton has an
exceptional history in the Principality, and this allows him to maximize
tire life, especially during long initial stints. His style is to wait out
rivals and strike during pit cycles.
- Max
Verstappen: Red Bull now lacks its previous dominance over bumpy street
venues, but Verstappen can rely on his superb race craft to stay in podium
contention. His aggressive positioning and extreme mechanical empathy make
him a formidable competitor.
Monaco GP longshots worth watching
● Charles Leclerc to win (or Grid Pole):
Although Leclerc’s season has been a mixed performance, especially when
compared to the dominant Mercedes team, he’s at home in Monaco. Leclerc’s
history as a qualifying wizard on street circuits, and if Ferrari tunes his car
optimally for a single-lap race, he could secure a podium finish.
● Isack Hadjar for a top 10 finish: The Red
Bull man is still hunting glory after finishing P5 in Canada. Although he has
struggled somewhat in 2026 due to the technical regulations, the rookie is an
enticing underdog to land in the points.
● Franco Colapinto for a top 6 finish:
Alpine’s Colapinto has severely outperformed expectations this season. He
finished P6 at the Canada GP and is now widely regarded as a dark horse
for a top 6 spot.
Prop bets to target
● A winning margin of under 5 seconds: Now,
Monaco GP rarely features massive gaps at the front due to the leading cars
dictating pace at the apex of corners. If there are no safety restarts, there
will be a very tight train at the finish.
● Safety car appearance (YES): There’s a high
probability that safety cars (virtual or full option) will appear, since there
are no runoff areas.
● Total classified cars (Under 16.5):
Monaco’s tight corridors mean that the bulky 2026 cars will hav a
high-attrition rate. That’s why the “Under” odds for finishers are highly
probable.
Under the lights next weekend, from June 4
to June 7, all the action is lined up for the Monaco Grand Prix! All 22 drivers
will be chasing a podium finish in a potentially tight contest. It is now an
open race but with clear favorites to clinch the top 3 spots.
