Cadillac Formula 1’s New Team for 2026: What to expect?

The team itself has spent years in preparation and development, with a core focus on their MAC-26 chassis. Over this period, they’ve been refining their racecar to make it fit and ready for the F1 grid.

The team’s debut season will be led by Valtteri Bottas. He’s a 10-time Grand Prix winner and raced alongside Mercedes and Sauber. They then have Sergio “Checo” Pérez, who’s a six-time Grand Prix winner who left Red Bull at the end of 2024.

You can see Cadillac took a different approach to many F1 teams. They chose drivers with experience instead of youth. Both drivers for Cadillac are 35 years old and bring collectively 527 Grand Prix starts and 106 podium finishes.

For a new team, this is an unbelievable amount of experience. The fact that they were able to recruit such drivers is impressive. However, we imagine this is due to the Cadillac brand and the funding they have behind it.

Cadillac isn’t going to chase podiums for its debut season. Instead, they are targeting to be a midfield competitor within two or three seasons.

Despite this, we can expect Cadillac to rise quicker in the grid than other new teams. With General Motors’ engineering behind them, it gives them a lot of flexibility in car development.

The sponsor list for Cadillac is slowly being built. General Motors and TWG Motorsports dominate the commercial structure. You then have other partners like Claro, Core Scientific, IFS, Jim Beam, Tenneco, Tommy Hilfiger, Pirelli, and Alpinestars.

Considering this is just the beginning, they’ve done well to attract some big names. In the future, we imagine they’ll get a gambling or entertainment sponsorship. Williams, Red Bull, and McLaren all have sponsors in this sector.

We get it as well. Platforms offering hundreds of casino games online, like slots, table games, and live dealer titles, offer incredible deals. Many of them are revenue-split deals, where teams get a large share of each player's deposit, which could help with the team's car development in the future.

While it was only a matter of time for Cadillac to join F1, nobody thought it would be for the 2026 formula 1 world championship season.

That being said, we’re happy they’re here. There hasn’t been a new team in a while, and honestly, Cadillac is the perfect fit. They have the brand, infrastructure, and budget behind them to make a real impact.

How they’ll perform in the future, though, will depend on the next few seasons. Teams, drivers, and engineers will have to form a bond like no other, especially if they want to compete with top grid teams in 5+ years.

Still, we’re excited to see what they’ll accomplish over the coming seasons. We believe that with the right strategy, we could see them become a real competitor in the long-term horizon.
