Lewis Hamilton loves the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, where he has won seven times before, and was elated by taking second in the 2026 Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday.

The seven-time Formula 1 Champion was in the zone all weekend in Montreal, and while that did not reflect in his results in the Sprint Qualifying, the Sprint, and Qualifying, he managed to put it all together in the Grand Prix with a great start and then beat Max Verstappen in a thrilling battle towards the end of the race.
"Awesome!" Hamilton trumpeted after the race. "A good day of racing and a really solid weekend. I have felt on the up, and the team have done a really amazing job.
"For us to be up there battling, and also go have a good battle with Max [Verstappen], I am really, really grateful. And so, so happy.
"There are so many elements that have to come together to get the car in the right place, and I think I finally have that with the engineers I have and the car setup within the team," he explained.
"I hope I can continue on with this performance," the Briton added. "I am much happier and more comfortable in the car. It feels much more like it used to be.
"I love this job. It's the greatest job in the world, and I never take that for granted," he concluded.
Hamilton has started the 2026 F1 season, his second with Ferrari, in better form following a tough debut campaign in Red in 2025. While his form took a dip recently, he bounced back in Canada with this podium finish after reports that he has ditched the Ferrari simulator work, changing his approach to a race weekend.

On the other hand, Charles Leclerc had a tough weekend in Canada, never comfortable in his Ferrari and off the pace of Hamilton in what was a clear revers of roles within the team.
He reflected: "There is no blame to put on anybody else but me. It has been a nightmare of a weekend, and I have been struggling like crazy.
"Since FP1 the problem has been the same, and I have not been able to find a solution. That is not nice.
"I thought today with multiple laps it would be a lot better, but I never put the tyres in the right window and had zero confidence.
"We need improvements to win races, but if I look at Lewis [Hamilton] this weekend, we have been relatively competitive.
"He did an incredible job. Second was the most we could achieve," the Monegasque, who was fourth at the chequered flag, concluded.
Leclerc will race at home next for the Monaco Grand Prix in a fortnight.
