It came down to a question of the team who made the least mistakes and delivered on track irrespective of their drivers and management. Ferrari dropped the ball on several occasions, Red Bull fumbled the ball big time, Williams had the ball but did not know what to do with it, while McLaren never had the ball...
Truth is Mercedes team deserve this award for their unsung heroes, the faceless people who toil behind the scenes to deliver a near perfect package which has dominated the sport for the past 24 months.
Perhaps it starts with Paddy Lowe and definitely filters through his technical team and the entire staff at Brackley.
The Silver Arrows were almost unbeatable in 2015, not only because of the massive talents of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, but also because of the hard graft put in by folks whose names we will never know - we salute them with this award.
