No driver, performing so badly for so long - 188 Grand Prix starts and counting - as Stroll would be in a Formula 1 team today. His career would've ended after a year or two had he not been driving for Daddy.
The unjustified belief in his son being F1 World Champion ridicules the stupendous racing team billionaire Lawrence Stroll has built with Aston Martin, but the amazing men and women toiling at Silvesrtone HQ (Adrian Newey among them of course) with the knowledge that they have to make excuses for the Rich Kid.
The racing people at Aston Martin surely know, like we all do for a long time that 26-year-old Lance is not the real deal relative to Max Verstappen this era's benchmark F1 driver. And even nowhere close to the 20-something talents such as Lando Norris, George Russell, Charles Leclerc and the like.
Meanwhile young worthy talents, used as reserves by Aston Martin, namely Felipe Drugovich and Stoffel Vandoorne have been denied a proper crack at Formula 1. Instead, from the depths of the garage they watch Stroll break cars and simply not progress as a racing driver. It has to hurt. It's a sham.

18 October 2025: Overtake fail attempt on Ocon during COTA Sprint Race
On Saturday, at Circuit of the Americas, during the 2025 United States Grand Prix Sprint received a five-place grid penalty for Sunday’s race after crashing into Esteban Ocon during the Sprint at Circuit of the Americas.
Attempting an overly ambitious inside move into Turn 1 while running P13, Stroll locked up his Aston Martin and speared the rear of Ocon’s Haas, causing heavy damage to both cars and triggering a late safety car. Both drivers retired.
The FIA deemed Stroll fully responsible for “misjudged braking” and issued two penalty points on his superlicence, taking him to eight of twelve. Ocon was cleared of wrongdoing.
After overnight repairs, Stroll qualified P13 but started P18 due to the penalty, finishing the Grand Prix P12 after a rare incident free recovery drive.
Stroll said of his latest escapades: “I pushed too hard on the inside; the braking just didn’t stick. While team principal Mike Krack timidly called the incident “avoidable damage in a tight points battle” for Aston Martin. [Mike knows who signs the AMR salary cheques!]

- Azerbaijan GP Baku Qualifying: Stroll crashed at Turn 15, locking up under braking damaging front suspension and wheel
- Dutch GP Zandvoort Qualifying: Lost control and speared into the wall. No lap time set.
- Dutch GP Zandvoort FP2: Lost it into banked Turn 3, heavy right-side hit. Red flag, driver OK.
- Canada FP2: Practice crash at Turn 7 on return from hand and wrist pain layoff.
- Monaco FP1: Hit by Leclerc after rejoining the fast lane unsafely at the hairpin. Stroll deemed wholly to blame, one-place grid penalty.
2024
- Qatar GP: Lap-1 clash with Albon caused race-ending damage for Stroll. Ten-second penalty and penalty points.
- Brazilian GP: Spins off on the formation lap in wet conditions. Then beaches the car.
- Chinese GP: Rear-ended Ricciardo at Safety Car restart. Ten-second penalty, Ricciardo’s race ruined.
- Saudi Arabia GP: Crashed at Jeddah, heavy impact into the wall, DNF.
2023
- Mexico City GP: Collision with Bottas late in the race, Stroll retired. Bottas penalised.
- Singapore GP qualifying: Massive Q1 crash at final corner, red flag. Withdrew from the race on medical grounds.
- Monaco GP: Multiple hits, front-wing loss and barrier contact in the wet, then retirement.
2022
- United States GP Austin: Made a late move on the straight and collided with Alonso at high speed. Three-place grid penalty for Mexico.
- Azerbaijan GP qualifying: Two crashes in Q1 within minutes, second caused a red flag.
- Australia GP qualifying: Tangled with Latifi in Q1, both in the wall. Grid penalty for Stroll.
2021
- Hungarian GP Lap 1: Triggered a multi-car pile-up by hitting Leclerc. Five-place grid penalty for next race.
- Azerbaijan GP race: Left-rear tyre failure triggered a high-speed crash on the main straight.
- Azerbaijan GP qualifying: Q1 crash at Baku Turn 15, red flag.
2020
- Bahrain GP: Car flipped after contact with Kvyat. Walked away, DNF.
- Portuguese GP Portimão: Collided with Norris at Turn 1. Five-second penalty and licence points.
- Russian GP Sochi Lap 1: Punted into the wall by Leclerc, DNF.
- Tuscan GP Mugello: High-speed crash at Arrabbiata 2 due to suspected failure. Red flag.
2019
- Abu Dhabi GP Lap 1: Contact with Gasly at the start, Gasly lost front wing. Stroll later retired with brakes, but the opening-lap collision is recorded.
- Spain GP: Collision with Norris at Turn 2. Safety Car, DNF.
2018
- Hungarian GP: During Q2 qualifying, Stroll crashed at Turn 4 after locking up under braking
- Canada GP Lap 1: Heavy crash with Hartley into the wall. Both retired.
2017
- Malaysia GP cool-down lap: Low-speed collision with Vettel after the flag.
- Bahrain GP: Taken out in pit-exit collision with Sainz at Turn 1.
- China GP Lap 1: Out in first-lap collision.
- Australia FP3: Crashed the Williams at Turn 10 in final practice on debut weekend. Required a gearbox change.
