With Daniel Ricciardo all but signed up by Red Bull until the end of 2018, Sergio Perez may well be a possible option for Ferrari to replace Kimi Raikkonen when the veteran Finn retires.
Reports of a Perez move to Maranello were instigated by his father shortly after his son finished on the podium in Monaco.
But young Perez, speaking to reporters in Baku ahead of the European Grand Prix weekend, has played down the speculation, "I'm not into these rumours and I am fully concentrated on my job to do the best for my team."
"I am satisfied with Force India, but who knows what will happen in the future? We are still early in the year, decisions will be later this year."
Perez's contract with the Silverstone based team expires at the end of the season, and he insists, "I am here to fight for and win the world championship. If I get the chance there then great."
TEST FIORANO FDA
"I have not won a race in Formula 1 and I am hungrier than any other driver on the grid. Especially because I did race with a top team [McLaren], but it was at the wrong time."
A spell at Ferrari is of course the dream of most Formula 1 drivers, and Perez admits he is no different but also accepts it might not happen.
"There are so many good drivers who will never get a chance to sit in the right car or to go for the right team. I am living my dream as a F1 driver, I enjoy driving and trying to be better every weekend. What comes next we will wait and see," mused Perez.
The Mexican was part of the Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) and his 2011 F1 debut with the Ferrari powered Sauber was facilitated by the Maranello outfit.
