Audi Revolut F1 Team heads back to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this weekend hoping to turn promising Monaco pace into tangible results, as the 2026 Formula 1 season arrives at one of the calendar's most revealing venues.

The Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix marks a return to familiar territory for Audi. The Spanish circuit hosted the first laps of the R26 during pre-season testing in January, making it the place where the team's current campaign began.
After a busy Monaco weekend that showed encouraging signs despite a disappointing final outcome, Audi sees Barcelona as a key benchmark. With its blend of high-speed corners, technical sections and long straights, the circuit is regarded as one of Formula 1's most complete tests of a car's overall performance.

McNish: Monaco pace showed progress

Audi Racing Director Allan McNish believes the team's speed in Monaco was another indication that development is moving in the right direction, even if the results failed to reflect that progress.
McNish said: "We showed encouraging pace in Monaco, proof that we are continuing to make progress, even if the final outcome did not reward the work that went into the weekend.
"Barcelona presents a different challenge altogether, but it is a circuit we know well and one that provides a good reference point for measuring our development.
"We return to the track where our story started earlier this year, and our aim is to build on the positives from last weekend, continue learning and keep moving forward," he concluded.
The team's objective remains clear: use a circuit known to every driver and engineer in the paddock as a measuring stick to assess how far the R26 has come since its first outing six months ago.

Hulkenberg keen to move on

For Nico Hulkenberg, the focus is firmly on putting Monaco behind him, his race ending in a crash with Carlos Sainz for which the German was penalized. He hopes to carry the positives into a very different challenge.
The German admitted the result in the Principality was frustrating but believes the underlying pace offers encouragement heading into Spain.
Hulkenberg said: "Monaco ended in a quite frustrating way, but that's behind us now as we head into a new race week.
"There were still positives to take away from last weekend: our pace was encouraging, and that's something we want to carry forward.
"Barcelona is a very different challenge from Monaco and it's always a good test of the overall package. We've been making steps in the right direction so hopefully we will be able to extract the potential of the car."
Barcelona's demanding layout traditionally exposes both strengths and weaknesses, making it an important weekend for teams seeking a clear picture of their competitiveness.

Familiar ground for Bortoleto

Gabriel Bortoleto arrives at a circuit he knows well from his junior career and believes execution will be crucial if Audi is to convert potential into points.
The Brazilian rookie highlighted the value of returning to a venue where teams already have extensive data, reducing the likelihood of surprises across the weekend.
Bortoleto said: "We showed some encouraging signs in terms of performance in Monaco.
"Every race is a chance to learn more and keep improving, and that's what we're focused on heading into Barcelona.
"It's a circuit I've spent a lot of time at over the years, in nearly every series I have competed in, and one where teams have no surprises, thanks to all the testing we've done there already.
"Our focus needs to be on a clean weekend in which we can maximise the potential of our car, execute well, and hopefully come home with some points."
Returning to the circuit where Audi's R26 first turned a wheel offers an opportunity to measure progress, validate recent upgrades and determine whether Monaco's encouraging pace can translate into points on one of the sport's most demanding tracks.
