Formula 1 has released its entire 2026 calendar loaded with changes, surprises and a new venue, as well as a new team entry that is already creating a stir.
On the back of 24 races guaranteed on five continents, Formula 1 is stretching its worldwide appeal even as it marks a new dawn of technical innovation.
Starting in Melbourne, the season will run March 6-8, retaining its traditional position as opener. Australia has long been a popular origin point with fans, and the early March date does not conflict with Ramadan, which takes place in February and March in 2026.
That calendar change moves the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix to April, and they will be held consecutively.
The entry of Cadillac as the 11th team on the grid is a big attraction. Cadillac enters together with Andretti Global, increasing the number of cars to 22, the biggest since 2016. It’s a big deal in American motorsport, particularly with the Las Vegas Grand Prix now being part of the Triple-Header season finale.
Madrid becomes a new venue on the Formula 1 Calendar
Europe sees a few major updates, too. As Spain retains its historic Barcelona race in June, Madrid will stage its inaugural Grand Prix between September 11-13. Amontillado circuit - built as a street race, Madrid is likely to feature a combination of narrow turns and urban scenery in a Baku-like format.

Monaco date shifted from May to June
Monaco, in its turn, is pushed forward and will now start the European swing in early June. Zandvoort will celebrate its last F1 weekend with a sprint race- one of several sprint races that will take place during the year, although the list of sprint hosts is still to be announced.
Looking ahead to the season’s close, F1 has lined up a grueling triple-header to finish the year. Las Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi will wrap up the season between November and early December, with the finale set for December 4–6 in Abu Dhabi. That’s the latest end date for an F1 season to date.
In addition to the race calendar, the year 2026 will bring a new technical era. The teams will race with
new aerodynamic rules and overhauled power unit rules with the focus on electric power and sustainable fuel. All F1 cars will, actually, use 100 percent advanced sustainable fuels, a first in the sport as it aims to meet its 2030 net-zero carbon target.
