Mercedes will become the first Formula 1 team to use an all electric truck across an entire European campaign after confirming that a Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 will cover all nine European races of the 2026 season.

The Mercedes-AMG Petronas squad announced the initiative ahead of this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix, with the truck already having completed its first journey from Brackley to Monaco, a trip of more than 1,600km.
The eActros 600 will transport one of the team's race trailers and is expected to cover around 15,000km during the European leg of the championship, which concludes in Madrid in September. The truck will carry key operational infrastructure, including Mercedes' communications office as well as medical and physiotherapy facilities.
The move expands Mercedes' use of lower emission transport solutions after successful trials during the 2025 season. Those included an initial deployment at the British Grand Prix and what the team described as an industry first when its W16 Formula 1 cars were transported from Brackley to Zandvoort for the Dutch Grand Prix using electric power.
Mercedes said the electric truck will join its existing fleet of race and marketing vehicles powered by HVO100 biofuel as part of a broader effort to reduce emissions from logistics operations.
Logistics remains one of the most difficult areas of Formula 1's carbon footprint to decarbonise because of the sport's global calendar and the vast amount of equipment transported between events.
By extending the use of the eActros 600 throughout the entire European season, Mercedes believes it can demonstrate the reliability and practicality of long haul electric transport in a high demand motorsport environment.
The project also forms part of the team's wider sustainability strategy and supports its target of achieving Race Team Control Net Zero by 2030 through reductions in Scope 3 emissions, which include transport and supply chain activities.
