Ferrari President John Elkann was in the Silverstone Formula 1 paddock when Charles Leclerc delivered the team's 250th win in the sport.
Leclerc took the win at the
British Grand Prix that was packed with drama towards the end with Kimi Antonelli breaking down and Max Verstappen crashing, the latter incident causing a Safety Car under which the race ended.
Ferrari took their first win in the F1 Championship back in 1951 in Silverstone and managed their 250th victory at the same venue.
Elkann, speaking to Sky Sports F1 Italy after the race, said: "That's 250 wins for Ferrari, and the first was here at Silverstone.
"And this shows how important today is for our history and, above all, for the present and the future.
"When everyone at Ferrari works together, from our great drivers like Charles, who had a great race, like Lewis, to the whole team, both in Maranello and here on the track, great things happen," he added.
Ferrari are the most successful team in the history of F1 with 16 Constructors' Championships and 15 Drivers' Titles. They have taken part in 1131 Grand Prix over 77 seasons.
However, since 2008, the year of their last Title (Constructors) Ferrari have failed to win any Championship and were hoping to do so in 2026 with the debut of the new regulations but Mercedes have bettered them so far.
While Ferrari have managed to close the gap to Mercedes, they haven't done enough to fight for wins consistently as Mercedes are yet to bring another upgrade to their car.
But Lewis Hamilton was the first non-Mercedes driver to take a win in 2026 with Leclerc becoming the second to do so as Ferrari remains the only team to deny Mercedes wins this season.
Ferrari are second in the 2026 F1 Constructors' Title behind Mercedes by 100 points. Hamilton is third in the Drivers' Championship and still in contention.
