Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 Team revealed its 2025 livery during the F1 75 Live event at The O2 Arena in London with all ten teams. After four largely disappointing seasons is the AMR25 the winning car that billionaire owner Lawrence Stroll dreams of?

The event, celebrating Formula 1’s 75th year, marked a unique opportunity for fans to witness the sport’s latest designs in a single venue. Aston Martin’s presentation combined its legacy, cultural impact, and a nod to its links with James Bond, as drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll arrived in 007 style in a CGI recreation of the Thames River chase from The World Is Not Enough.
The unveiling of the AMR25 was accompanied by a live performance from Grammy award-winner Tems, backed by a 35-piece orchestra, before CEO and Team Principal Andy Cowell, alongside Alonso and Stroll, took the stage.
Cowell highlighted the significance of the moment; he said: "We're delighted to launch the livery of our AMR25 during F1 75 Live.
"It's a unique way of involving fans, partners and also our colleagues, and it makes my first launch as CEO and Team Principal even more special. Our 2025 livery looks great and continues to showcase the heritage of the team. I'm looking forward to seeing our drivers take to the track in the AMR25 for the first time later this month."
The AMR25 livery retains the iconic racing green that has been a hallmark since Aston Martin rejoined the grid in 2021. The car’s full technical details will be revealed in a digital launch on February 23, just days before pre-season testing begins in Bahrain on 26-28 February.
Speaking at the event, F1's oldest driver, Alonso emphasized the need to improve upon last season’s performance; he said: "We need to see the cars on track in Bahrain and over the first few races because there are lots of different types of circuits in the early stages.
"After that, we will have a better idea of where we are. The aim for us is to improve on what we did last year.

Alonso: We're putting all the right building blocks in place

Alonso: We're putting all the right building blocks in place
"We're putting all the right building blocks in place. We've had two consecutive seasons in P5 in the Constructors' Championship. It's going to be a challenge, the field is going to be very tight, so small details will make a huge difference in terms of points and results," explained the 43-year-old Spaniard.
Alonso also looked ahead to the team’s future and the upcoming arrival of Adrian Newey; he continued: "There have been a lot of new arrivals and Adrian Newey is joining in a few weeks so it's really encouraging for the future.
"With the change of regulations for 2026, it's an incredibly exciting time for the sport in general, but especially for our team.
"We're putting all the right building blocks in place and the whole organisation is pushing in the same direction. I feel very privileged to see everything from the inside," ventured the Spaniard.
In the same session, Andy Cowell reflected on his role as Aston Martin’s CEO and Team Principal; he said: "Most of the work I did previously at Mercedes and prior to that was largely based in the factory, chasing performance on a power unit.
"But in F1 you're always looking for improvements, no matter your role, and so from that side of things, the experience is just the same. There is, however, the outward-facing bit of this role.
"I'm excited to represent the team. It's an amazing brand. It's an amazing group of people. The investment that's been put in is tremendous. And with new people joining all the time it's my job to get everybody together and everything working well," added Cowell.

Cowell: We Can't wait to get racing

Looking ahead to the season, Cowell is eager to see the AMR25 in action; he said: "We can't wait to get racing. I'm looking forward to being in Bahrain and getting feedback from both Lance and Fernando on the car.
"I'm keen to see how the tools we've got at the AMR Technology Campus tie in with the data we collect, but I most of all want to hear the feedback from the drivers which we can apply to keep moving forwards."
Stroll offered insight into the development of the team’s 2025 challenger: "AMR25 is an evolution of last year's car and we're hoping we can make a step forward. There was a lot of experimenting throughout the course of last year.
"I think we learnt a lot about why some of our upgrades didn't bring us what we wanted. Everything that's gone into the development of this year's car is really taken from all the lessons we learnt from last year. We're all excited to see how the new car feels," added the 26-year-old Canadian and son of the team's owner, Lawrence Stroll.
Two-time F1 world champion Alonso also looked further ahead to the sport’s 2026 regulations and Aston Martin’s long-term ambitions, he stated: "You need to have everything in place to be successful in F1.
"There is no guarantee, and there is no prediction of what is going to happen in 2026, but you have to make sure that you have the tools, the facilities, the talent, the commitment, and the partners to give yourself a chance.
"For us to have Honda from 2026, to have Aramco with us, to have the facilities, to have the talent—both the existing people in the team and new people arriving—it's an exciting time. We're putting everything we need in place. Nothing is guaranteed but we're doing all we can to give ourselves a good chance," added Alonso.
Aston Martin’s journey continues with pre-season testing in Bahrain, where the team will get its first indication of the AMR25’s competitiveness ahead of the opening round of the 2025 Formula 1 season.
