On Saturday, Racing Bulls revealed a one-off livery and team kit for the Japanese Grand Prix during the Red Bull Tokyo Drift, ahead of Round 3 at Suzuka this coming weekend.
The reveal took place at the night event, which featured more than 500 custom cars, DJ sets, and drifting demonstrations. Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad were present, appearing on stage before and after the unveiling, while several Red Bull athletes also attended.
The special liveried Racing Bulls car was revealed during a drift demonstration. The concept and design was developed with Japanese calligrapher Bisen Aoyagi and introduces a white, red and silver colour scheme, replacing the team’s standard look for the race weekend.
The same design approach is applied to the team kit, which includes brush stroke detailing and Japanese calligraphy, including “Give You Wiiings” text across the clothing.
Aoyagi explained the concept: “Calligraphy captures motion in a single stroke, much like racing captures speed in a pivotal moment. I was inspired by cherry blossoms and the culture of Japan to create a design that feels powerful, elegant and alive on the car.”
The design is linked to the Red Bull Spring Edition, with the visual theme aligned to Japan’s cherry blossom season. Both the organisation's F1 teams were partnered with Honda until the end of last year. From 2026, Ford has become their engine partner.
A special moment for Racing Bulls in Tokyo
VCARB CEO Peter Bayer said: “As a team, we’re always looking for ways to connect with young fans and the cultures that shape our sport. The creative direction for this special livery and team kit originated with the Red Bull Spring Edition can.
"Together with Bisen Aoyagi, we transformed that bold design into something truly unique for the track. Unveiling it in Tokyo, in front of the passionate fans at Red Bull Tokyo Drift, makes this moment even more special for our team.”
Red Bull athletes including
Yuki Tsunoda, Ayumu Iwasa, Hiroya Minowa and Takamoto Katsuta were also part of the event.
The car is scheduled to run through Tokyo on 22 March, passing locations such as Meguro River and Tokyo Tower. It will then be displayed publicly on 23 March at Shibuya109.
The livery will be used for the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka, where it will also feature on the race suits and team kit for the weekend.
