Usain Bolt: Lewis who?

Sprinting legend Usain Bolt has cheekily challenged five times Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton to a karting race with a spirited taunt on Twitter, the Jamaican legend claiming he, in fact, is the king of go-karts, nobody better!

The 100 metres king who retired from athletics last year, posted a photo of himself wearing a T-shirt with the words: “Lewis who?”

The video starts with eight times Olympic gold medal winner oozing confidence during an indoor karting session with his mates including Olympic medalist Will Claye.

Walking towards the camera Bolt declared, “I’m the king of go-kart. Why are you even here? I run this, you know what I mean, the business. Nobody is greater than me. Nobody.”

Footage shows lanky Bolt, all knees and elbows, in action at an indoor karting venue with Clay remarking at one point, “I need to talk to Lewis Hamilton, that’s who I need to talk too.”

Bolt then retorts, “Just talking.” And adds with a [talk, talk] gesture, “All of this.”

Throw into the mix the “Lewis who?” T-shirt and there is definitely a challenge in there. It will be interesting to see what Puma, who sponsor the Mercedes F1 team and Bolt, can muster from this PR opportunity of a lifetime.

Bolt versus Hamilton will be a laugh for sure but even better would be if, after the karting shootout, the race driver took on the legendary sprinter in a 100-metre race!
