Charles Leclerc is not expecting a revolution in the way Ferrari configure the brakes on his SF-26 ahead of this weekend's Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.

Leclerc crashed on the restart of the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix last weekend and blamed the brakes, which he has been struggling with throughout his home weekend and also since Canada.
While tarmac marbles in the final corner during the Monaco race were blamed for Leclerc's crash and Lance Stroll's before him, the Monegasque was adamant that the data proved his reasoning, while Ferrari's brake supplier, Brembo, were not thrilled with his statements and responded to them.
Facing the media in Barcelona, Leclerc was asked about the brake situation and whether he could give some insight; he responded: “Not a lot, to be completely honest.
“We’ll do what we think is best on our side and try to maximize whatever we can do—that's my job as a driver and our job as a team. We’ll continue to push.
"It still hurts, Monaco. I’m pretty good normally at moving on, but I think this one hurts because it’s also home.
“Now I'm just looking forward to being back on track tomorrow and driving again. That’s the best way to forget about what happened last weekend," he maintained.
Pushed further to discuss the brake situation, Leclerc was reluctant to give any details and delivered a generic response, which showed that the solution may not be attainable this weekend.
He said: "The last two weekends have been very tough for me. Overall, I think going forward we’ll change slightly the configuration of how we run our brakes.
“To go more into the detail is tricky for me. We’ll see—I don’t think it’s going to be a revolution, but in certain times of the race I will expect a change," the Ferrari Formula 1 driver concluded. (Reporting by Agnes Carlier)
