Toyota returned to the top step at the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the first time since 2022 on Sunday, claiming a sixth overall victory after a faultless strategic performance in the 94th running of the endurance classic.
The #7 Toyota Gazoo Racing crew of Kamui Kobayashi, Nyck de Vries and Mike Conway completed 381 laps at the Circuit de la Sarthe to secure victory after 24 hours of racing, leading home a tightly contested Hypercar field that featured challenges from BMW, Cadillac and Ferrari.
The win was the second
Le Mans triumph for Kobayashi and Conway, while de Vries became the first Dutch driver in 38 years to win the French endurance classic.
Toyota appeared on course for a one-two finish for much of the race, but a determined charge from BMW M Team WRT denied the Japanese manufacturer a clean sweep. The #20 BMW M Hybrid V8 shared by Robin Frijns, Rene Rast and Sheldon van der Linde finished second, 10.913 seconds behind the winners.
The sister #8 Toyota of Sebastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa completed the podium in third, 20.417 seconds adrift after losing ground through mistakes and strategic setbacks during the race.
Cadillac continued its strong form at Le Mans with the #12 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA entry of Louis Deletraz, Will Stevens and Norman Nato finishing fourth after remaining in contention throughout the event.
Ferrari's challenge ended with the #51 Ferrari AF Corse crew of Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi taking fifth place, while the sister #50 car retired before the finish.

The American manufacturer held off a late challenge from the #78 Akkodis ASP Lexus, which delivered Lexus its first Le Mans podium finish with second place.
The #23 Heart of Racing Aston Martin completed the podium in third.
Toyota also recorded the fastest lap of the race, with Hirakawa setting a 3:25.041 on lap 306 in the #8 Toyota.
Among the notable retirements were the #50 Ferrari AF Corse Hypercar, the #38 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA entry, the #17 Genesis Magma Racing Hypercar and several LMGT3 contenders including entries from Porsche, Ford, Corvette and Mercedes-AMG.
The result strengthens Toyota's position in the FIA World Endurance Championship while reinforcing the depth of competition in the Hypercar category, which once again produced a multi-manufacturer battle deep into the final hours of endurance racing's most prestigious event.
