Ralf Schumacher married his long term partner Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne in a ceremony in Saint Tropez on the French Riviera, to become the first Formula 1 driver on record to marry a man.

The couple exchanged vows at the town hall before celebrating with around 110 guests at a private estate in the famous resort town. Both men wore matching dark blue suits with light blue ties for the occasion.
While the celebration was kept private from the media, a television crew was present as part of a Sky documentary series following the couple's relationship and journey to marriage. The series, titled "Ralf & Étienne: We Say Yes", has been airing since May and will feature the wedding episode this week.
Among the guests was Schumacher's son, David Schumacher, who attended with his wife and served as best man. Reality television personalities Carmen Geiss and Robert Geiss were also present.
Schumacher's former wife, Cora Schumacher, was not at the ceremony but publicly offered her congratulations, telling German newspaper Bild: "They always say: True love finds a way. In some cases, it just takes a little longer until everyone at the racetrack really knows which way the race is going. Nevertheless, all the best for your wedding."
The 50 year old Schumacher, younger brother of seven time Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher, won six Formula 1 Grands Prix during a career that included spells with Williams F1 Team and Toyota F1.
Schumacher publicly revealed his relationship with Bousquet-Cassagne in 2024. The couple have since appeared together regularly, with Bousquet-Cassagne also working within the family's wine business, Schumacher Wines.
"Ralf & Étienne: We Say Yes" premiered in May 2026. The multi-part programme follows Schumacher and Bousquet-Cassagne as they prepare for their wedding, offering viewers a behind-the-scenes look at their daily lives, family relationships, travel, business interests and the planning of their ceremony on the French Riviera.
The series culminates with the wedding itself, with Sky granted exclusive access to film the celebrations and key moments leading up to the couple's vows. Ralf is one of Sky Germany's top Formula 1 analysts, attending GPs to provide liive commentary for viewers.
