Manor confirmed on Twitter that their 2016 car has passed the mandatory FIA crash tests (file photo above) meaning that the team will be present at the first pre-season test in Barcelona.
Hot on the heels of announcing that Nikolas Tombazis was appointed Chief Aerodynamicist for the team, the team announced: "Our next instalment: today we completed our final crash test, so we now have a fully homologated chassis. Next stop: test 1 in Barcelona."
Manor did not attend last year's pre-season tests as they were on the brink of closure, but a financial package was put in place to save the backmarker team.
In 2015 the team did not produce a new car, instead they ran a modified version of the 2014 car. The team were more often than not way off the pace.
Manor's 2015 car will be powered Mercedes for the first time and developed under a new technical partnership with Williams. The team has yet to confirm its 2016 drivers.
