On the day after finishing fifth in the German Grand Prix Lewis Hamilton undertook an MRI scan as part of routine check up.
He posted a picture and wrote on Twitter: "Yesterday in Geneva, I had a health checkup. Here's me about to have an MRI to check my spine. A drivers spine can deteriorate over time due to compression."
Hamilton will not be taking part in next week's Young Driver Test - which now has become a tyre test in the wake of the tyre blowouts during the British Grand Prix, where Lewis Hamilton was the first to experience a blowout of his Pirelli left tyre while leading his home race.
But Hamilton's Mercedes team has been excluded from the test as punishment for their role in the 'test-gate' saga. (GP247)
