Formula 1 paid tribute to Mark Robinson, the Marshal killed at the Canadian Grand Prix.
Robinson, the volunteer marshal who was killed in the freak crane accident, was a Formula 1 fanatic, steeped in knowledge of the sport he loved.
“I can only tell you that Mark was not [just] a Formula 1 fan…he was ‘THE’ Formula 1 fan. He had knowledge about the sport that would just boggle anyone’s mind and has been attending the event since the early eighties,” friend Tyler Hall wrote in a message to CTV Montreal.
Drivers, mechanics, engineers, truckies, admin people, fans and fellow marshals paid tribute to Robinson with a minute's silence under the podium at Silverstone, where a large photo of Robinson was mounted in his memory.
