Lando Norris is loosening Oscar Piastri's grip on the 2025 Formula 1 title chase, with his odds for the Drivers’ title shortened after the Singapore Grand Prix, according to latest odds supplied by bookmakers.
At the beginning of September, Norris was rated a 14/5 shot for the title, but after finishing third in Singapore – one place ahead of McLaren teammate and Championship leader Oscar Piastri – his odds have been cut to 5/2.
Piastri, who had finished ahead of Norris in three consecutive races prior to Singapore, has seen his title odds drift from 3/10 to 4/9.
Max Verstappen has also forced his way back into the Championship conversation. The Red Bull driver, who finished second at Marina Bay, has seen his odds slashed dramatically from 66/1 to 6/1 as his resurgence continues under team principal Laurent Mekies.
Norris and Verstappen are joint favourites at 2/1 to win in Austin
Casino Beats spokesperson Ollie Ring commented: “For the third time in three races, Lando Norris finished ahead of his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri in Singapore, which has seen the race for the Drivers’ Championship get even tighter.
“The odds are ever-narrowing as well, with Norris cut from 14/5 into 5/2, while Piastri’s chances are going the wrong way at 4/9 from as short as 3/10.
“Max Verstappen looked out of the race at 66/1 last month, but his recent stellar performances have put him right back in the mix and he’s now just 6/1 for the title.”
Looking ahead to next weekend’s United States Grand Prix, Norris and Verstappen are joint favourites at 2/1 to win in Austin, with Piastri now third in line at 5/2.
The title fight heads into its final six rounds with just 22 points separating the McLaren pair, while Verstappen’s momentum has reignited what looked to be a settled Championship race.
