Season 8 of Formula 1: Drive to Survive will premiere on 27 February 2026, taking viewers back inside the paddock ahead of the 2025 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.

The Netflix documentary series once again promises behind the scenes access across the grid, following drivers and teams through another title campaign. Cameras were embedded throughout the 2025 season, capturing new driver lineups, internal management shifts and the rivalries that shaped the year.
Produced by Box to Box Films, the series has become a central pillar of Formula 1’s global growth strategy since its debut, bringing fresh audiences into the sport through long form storytelling and personal access.
Season 8 focuses on the build up to and fallout from key moments across the 2025 championship fight. The production team trailed drivers as they prepared for race weekends, negotiated contracts and dealt with pressure inside the garage.
The series continues to be executive produced by Academy Award winner James Gay Rees, known for Amy and Senna, alongside Paul Martin of Diego Maradona fame, and Tom Hutchings for Box to Box Films. Tom Rogers serves as co executive producer.
By launching on 27 February, the new season lands just ahead of the start of the 2026 Formula 1 campaign, positioning the show as a narrative bridge between seasons and a final look back at the storylines that defined 2025.
