Despite an impressive showing at Le Mans with Toyota and his role as Red Bull reserve driver, Sebastien Buemi is not being considered to replace Mark Webber in 2014.
Red Bull team principal Chriastian Horner told the media at Silverstone, "Sebastien has made a great contribution this year as third driver and doing development work in the simulator. He had a great run at Le Mans last weekend which was super to see."
"But he’s not a contender for a race seat at Red Bull Racing. He’s an important member of the team but our choice is more focussed on the current, active F1 drivers," stated Horner.
Buemi started 55 races as a Toro Rosso driver, making his grand prix debut in Melbourne in 2009, and was axed from the Toro Rosso squad at the end of 2011, his last F1 race being the Brazilian GP of that year.
Since then the 24 year old has been reserve driver for Red Bull, as well as being a member of Toyota's squad at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. (GP247)
