Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivabene is expecting the team's newly launched Formula 1 challenger, the SF16-H, will enable them to seriously fight for the 2016 F1 world championship.
Arrivabene said on the occasion of the SF16-H launch, "Normally I’m not setting the objective, it’s my boss who sets the objective. Last year the objective was three victories, we got it. I think this year we need to push a bit more, so it’s going to be the championship."
"At least we would like to fight until the end for the championship. I know it’s not going to be easy because our competitors they are not sleeping at all. For sure we are all committed to do our best."
Technical director James Allison said of the SF16-H, "I have to say looking at it today I feel very, very happy and extremely proud of all the people here at Maranello, and I can’t wait to take it racing."
In the build-up to the launch Ferrari president Sergio Marchionne made no bones about his ambitions for the team, "2016 should be the year for us to return to the top. Our investments have not been lacking."
"We want to present ourselves in Australia as the team to beat. We know that our rivals are strong, but we are not afraid of them as we are the most successful team in the history of Formula 1," insisted Marchionne.
