BWT Alpine Formula 1 Team launched its 2025 FIA Formula 1 World Championship campaign with the unveiling of its A525 livery at the F1 75 Live event in London’s O2 Arena.
The French team’s new colours feature a blend of Alpine blue and the pink of title partner BWT, forming a striking livery set to compete across the 24-race calendar spanning five continents. The A525s will be driven by veteran Pierre Gasly and rookie Jack Doohan.
Team Principal Oliver Oakes, alongside race drivers Gasly and Doohan, took to the stage at the 15,000-capacity venue to present Alpine’s 2025 livery and outline the team’s ambitions for the season. The event was part of Formula 1’s 75th anniversary celebrations, with all ten teams participating.
In a unique addition to the unveiling, Emmy-nominated composer Brian Tyler, known for creating the official Formula 1 theme tune, performed “Supernova” under his DJ alias “Are We Dreaming” ahead of the car’s presentation.
Earlier in the day, Alpine hosted a private livery reveal for partners and media in Shoreditch, where Renault Group CEO Luca de Meo addressed attendees alongside Executive Advisor Flavio Briatore and Team Principal Oakes. Executive Technical Director David Sanchez provided insight into the A525’s development and future plans.
Oakes: Days like this always mark significant milestones
The team also introduced its full 2025 driver roster, with Gasly and Doohan joined by test and reserve drivers Paul Aron, Ryo Hirakawa, and Franco Colapinto. Following the private event, Gasly and Doohan arrived at the O2 Arena in an Alpine A290, the 100% electric sporty city car and winner of the 2025 Car of the Year award.
Oakes reflected on the significance of the event and Alpine’s preparations for the season ahead; he said: "Days like this always mark significant milestones in a Formula 1 season. Firstly, it has been a huge effort at both our factories in Enstone and Viry-Châtillon to prepare for the year ahead.
"We aim to start the year with strong foundations, and it will certainly be another competitive season throughout the grid.
"It will be important to keep making forward strides and pushing development as far as we dare, all the while keeping our attention close on the regulation changes for 2026 and developing that package," Oakes added.
A525: Continuing momentum from 2024
The A525 is an evolution of last year’s A524, which secured two podiums at the São Paulo Grand Prix and helped the team finish sixth in the Constructors’ Championship. Alpine is aiming to build on that momentum in 2025.
The car will make its on-track debut in Bahrain with a shakedown on 24 February, where Gasly and Doohan will share the 200km-limited session before three days of official pre-season testing later that week.
Executive Technical Director David Sanchez detailed the car’s development; he said: "It has been a particularly busy winter for the team, so credit to everyone involved at the factories for their work in developing the ambitious A525 car while maintaining some perspective on next year’s development.
"The A525 is a continued evolution of the A524, where we have refined some details and aimed to improve some weaknesses in order to find more performance. We changed direction last year, which allowed us more scope to push the limit on development.
"We have been pleased with how this has progressed so far. Now we aim to maximise this car’s evolution and progress the overall package in its current form as far as we can," added Sanchez.
Gasly: Excited to get the season underway
Pierre Gasly, entering his eighth F1 season, expressed his anticipation for the year ahead; he commented: "This time of year is always so exciting because we are just around the corner from the season start and seeing the end result of all the hard work from the off-season.
"I am entering my eighth year in Formula 1, and I am just as excited to get the season underway as I was when I made my debut midway in 2017. I have been working hard over the winter months to prepare myself for the year, and I am looking forward to getting out on track next week and getting my first feel of the A525."
New teammate Doohan, promoted to a full-time race seat for 2025, shared his enthusiasm for his debut campaign, he said: "I am looking forward to the 2025 season with BWT Alpine Formula One Team and making the step up to the full-time race seat.
"To have been able to make my debut with the team last year in Abu Dhabi was a dream come true and a great opportunity to familiarise myself with the weekend set-up ahead of this coming season.
"Now I am excited to get back out on track and test the A525 in Bahrain ahead of my home race in Australia next month," added the Australian.
