McLaren has confirmed Fernando Alonso will be the first to drive the all new Honda powered MP4-30 at the first Formula 1 pre-season test in Jerez on 1 to 4 February.
Alonso is penned in to drive on the first and third days of the test, with team-mate Jenson Button in action on the second and fourth days.
The McLaren-Honda MP4-30 will be unveiled in the week leading up to the test, with an online launch on 20 January.
Meanwhile ahead of the new season Alonso, who made the switch from Ferrari where he spent five frustrating years that delivered no title to McLaren, is expecting a difficult 2015 season.

Alonso acknowledged to a follower of his social media pages: "It will be difficult to win races this year."
And added that the goal in 2015 at McLaren is to "learn, help, be happy and, long term, to win."
Honda powered McLaren to four F1 drivers' championships with Ayrton Senna winning three of these and Alain Prost once between 1988 and 1991. The combination also scooped the F1 constructors' titles in those four years.
The partnership in 1988 was the most dominant in Formula 1 history, with Senna and Prost winning 15 of the 16 races.
