Charles Leclerc endured a frustrating Miami Grand Prix weekend, but the Ferrari driver quickly found a good reason to smile after taking delivery of a new luxury Riva superyacht in Italy.
Leclerc had looked set to challenge for a podium in Miami before a dramatic final lap incident and a post race penalty dropped him to P8 at the flag. But his heartache would not last long.
Days later, the Monegasque arrived at Riva’s shipyard in La Spezia to receive his new 102 Corsaro Super during a private handover ceremony attended by his wife Alexandra.
The new yacht continues Leclerc’s long standing relationship with the Ferretti Group owned brand, which also sponsors
Ferrari’s Formula 1 team. Riva branding features prominently on Leclerc’s helmet and Ferrari race car throughout the season.
Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi said: “Charles’s passion for Riva, which is of course reciprocal, is a testament to quality and beauty that we welcome with boundless joy.
“If such a formidable driver and icon of style and elegance chooses once again one of our boats, it means that Riva, and in this case the magnificent 102 Corsaro Super, offers unrivalled standards of beauty, liveability and technology.”
Unveiled in 2021, the 102 Corsaro Super is an evolution of the popular 100 Corsaro platform. Leclerc’s yacht is the 20th hull produced and features a range of bespoke details reflecting the Ferrari driver’s personal taste.
The flybridge includes a custom designed bar area with an oversized grill, induction hob, twin refrigerators and an ice maker. The beach club area also features a specialised hauling ramp for launching water toys.
Customised to Leclerc tastes
Inside, the yacht is fitted with luxury furnishings from Poliform, tableware by Christofle, bedding by Frette and a customised Bang & Olufsen sound system. Leclerc also selected several personal design elements, including custom door handles and polished Calacatta marble finishes.
Powered by twin MTU engines producing 2,638 horsepower, the yacht has a cruising speed of 24 knots and can reach a top speed of 28 knots.
A new Riva 102 Corsaro Super is estimated to cost between €12 million and €15 million depending on the level of customisation.
Leclerc’s yacht appears heavily personalised, with bespoke interior finishes, custom flybridge modifications, luxury furnishings, upgraded entertainment systems and tailored beach club features. That would likely push the final price toward the upper end of the range, potentially around €14 million or more.
The 102 Corsaro Super is one of Riva’s flagship flybridge models at just over 30 metres in length and sits firmly in the ultra luxury superyacht segment.
It may not have been the Miami result Leclerc wanted on track, but off it the Ferrari star added another high profile machine to his growing collection. The Monegasque reportedly earns
$34-million annually for his services to the Reds.
