Australian Jack Doohan is reportedly close to signing a contract to make his full time Formula 1 debut with Alpine for the 2025 season.

Doohan joined the Alpine junior driver program in 2022 after spending five years within the Red Bull junior driver program (2017-2022).
He is currently a reserve driver for Alpine and has been taking part in FP1 sessions for the team, while he recently insisted that he feels ready to become an F1 driver.
Alpine have parted ways with Esteban Ocon and while confirming that Pierre Gasly will carry on with them, they are yet to confirm who the Frenchman's teammate would be.
But a recent report in Motorsport.com claimed that Doohan will be the choice of the Enstone-based squad that has currently been undergoing various changes.
Ever since Flavio Briatore has been hired as Executive Advisor to Alpine, the French team has been undergoing various changes.
Team Principal Bruno Famin was relieved from his duties and Oliver Oakes, founder of the Hitech Formula 2/3 team was announced on Wednesday as the new team boss.
The team also are on the path of becoming a customer team, as Famin revealed there are plans to ditch Renault power, with Mercedes probably becoming Alpine's supplier.
Briatore reportedly trued to lure Carlos Sainz to Alpine, but as the Spaniard decided to join Williams, it seems that the only option was to go with Doohan.
The report claimed that the fact that Doohan raced for Oakes at Hitech in his junior career will also improve his chances to join Alpine in 2025.
