The first Formula 1 press release to drop in 2024 was the Stake F1 Team, born 1 January 2024 at 10:04 CET, starting the New Year devoid of Ala Rmeo backing and signalling a transitional period for Swiss-based Sauber team ahead of their Audi merger for 2026.
The new Stake F1 Team,
revealed late last year, is now go with Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou in the driving seats for the 2024 F1 World Championship season. But who are Stake? Why are they involved in F1?

Stake claims to be "the

The press release adds: "Founded in 2017 by a group of technology and betting industry entrepreneurs, Stake has established itself as a leading presence in the world of sports and entertainment ever since."

As for the ramped-up involvement with Sauber from sponsor partner to title sponsor the press release adds: "The stepping up of Stake’s involvement in the world of Formula 1 further strengthens the brand’s diverse roster of partners which also includes the likes of Canadian superstar Drake, Everton Football Club, the UFC; and many more.
"In 2023, the brand’s inaugural year in the Formula 1 ecosystem, Stake already made its mark via a series of unique activations which have focused on cross-collaboration with its other existing brand partnerships. Having successfully reached a broad demographic that extends well beyond the traditional Formula One fan base in its debut year.
"Stake is planning a series of high-profile experiences to take place during the 2024 F1 calendar – starting with the eagerly awaited launch of the new C44, in February."
