The Alfa Romeo Racing F1 Esports Team has added 2018 series runner-up Daniel Bereznay to its line-up for its challenge on the F1 Esports Series title.
Bereznay, who competed for the Mercedes F1 Esports Team, joins Alfa Romeo Racing F1 Esports Team to target the top step of the podium with his new team. He will be joined by e-Race of Champions and Le Mans Esports Series winner James Baldwin, who will be making his F1 Esports Series debut in 2019. The team also welcomes back Salih Saltunc, who helped the team finish third in the inaugural Constructors’ Championship in 2018 and claimed a win at Hockenheim.
New rules for the 2019 F1 Esports Series allow team-to-driver communication throughout the race, making the team management roles even more important this year. Jamie Maclaurin, returning Team Principal for Alfa Romeo Racing F1 Esports Team, is joined by Aarav Amin who will be responsible for training and directing the team as Team Manager.
Amin is one of the world’s most well renowned F1 content creators on YouTube and brings a wealth of knowledge and first-hand experience to the team. His new perspective as a content creator will form a more creative approach to the team.
A fourth driver will join the team from the Pro Draft, which will be held in July at the Gfinity Arena in London.
“We ended the 2018 season on a real high and we plan on building on that momentum with our new recruits. We believe we have one of the strongest line-ups on the grid and will be putting maximum effort into our off-season preparations so that we arrive at event one on the sharp end” said Esports Team Principal Jamie MacLaurin. “We have some great experience now in the team, and the squad have been working really well behind the scenes.”
Esports Team Manager Aarav Amin added: “I’m ready to take on the fresh challenge my new role at Alfa Romeo Racing F1 Esports Team brings, and I think we have a competitive line-up for the season. With my experience in esports, I’m hoping to be a great asset to the drivers throughout the season.”
Fred Vasseur, Team Principal of Alfa Romeo Racing, said: “Our team was one of the success stories of last year’s series and the high-profile signings we have made for 2019 show we are continuing to move in the right direction. I am looking forward to seeing what this group of young, talented people will be able to achieve this season.”
Daniel Bereznay said: “I’m looking forward to starting this season with a new team, and Alfa Romeo Racing F1 Esports Team is an awesome brand to be representing. I am ready to build on my performances from last year and help us secure the team’s first F1 Esports Championship.”
James Baldwin added: “This is my first year in the F1 Esports Series and I believe that my ability to adapt to new games will stand me in good stead heading into this new season. We have a strong lineup and I cannot wait to get started.”
Salih Saltunc said: “We had a strong season last year but we are more determined than ever to bring the Championship home to Switzerland. We have put our strong experience on and off track to good use, and we are ready to bring another level to come out on top.”
