Sebastian Vettel’s season of woe got a tad worse when he crashed under braking into Sainte Devote during the early stages of the third and final free practice of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend.
The Ferrari driver had a close call on Thursday but this time around he went into turn one too hot and crunched into the barriers, bending the left front of his Ferrari.
Vettel hopped out unharmed but his weekend at the Principality could be compromised by another mistake in the four-time F1 World Champion’s growing list of errors.
The front left wheel on the Ferrari was bent at a right angle and the front wing shattered. The Ferrari mechanics will be very bust between getting the car after the session to the start of qualifying later in the day.
“My front left’s gone,” Vettel reported on the team radio before climbing out of the car.
