Las Vegas Grand Prix secured until 2037 after Formula 1 agrees 10 year extension

The agreement between Formula 1, Las Vegas Grand Prix, Inc., Clark County officials and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority ensures the event will remain one of the sport's flagship races in the United States for at least another decade.

Since returning to Las Vegas in 2023, the race has become one of Formula 1's most high-profile events, combining racing on the famous Las Vegas Strip with entertainment, hospitality and business opportunities that have attracted global attention.

Held on the 6.2km Las Vegas Strip Circuit, the race takes drivers past some of the city's most recognisable landmarks, including Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Wynn Las Vegas and The Venetian Resort. Cars reach speeds of more than 322 kph on one of the fastest street circuits in Formula 1.

The event has also delivered memorable moments on track. Max Verstappen won the inaugural race in 2023 before adding a second victory in 2025, while George Russell triumphed in 2024. That same year Verstappen secured his fourth consecutive Formula 1 Drivers' Championship in Las Vegas.

Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali said the success of the event had exceeded expectations since its return to the calendar.

Domenicali said: "We are thrilled that Formula 1 will continue racing in Las Vegas for many years to come. Since its debut in 2023, the event has been extraordinary, rapidly establishing itself as a premier destination for great racing, world class entertainment, global business leaders, A list celebrities and influencers.

"It has delivered a strong and lasting impact on the local economy and community. We always believed that Las Vegas would become a cornerstone of our presence in the United States, and this extension, together with the success of recent years, reinforces our long term commitment to this important market.

"I would like to thank Las Vegas Grand Prix, Clark County, and the LVCVA for their continued support, passion, and vision. The future is incredibly exciting, and we look forward to taking this event to even greater heights."

The economic benefits have been substantial. Formula 1 says the event has generated a cumulative economic impact of $3.2 billion for Southern Nevada since its debut, with all three races from 2023 through 2025 selling out.

In 2025 alone, the race generated $43 million in state and local tax revenue, including $15 million directed towards local K-12 education programmes.

Las Vegas Grand Prix President and CEO Emily Prazer described the extension as a defining moment for the event and its partners.

Prazer said: "Securing a 10-year extension through 2037 is a defining moment for the Las Vegas Grand Prix and a reflection of the strength of our local partnerships." I'm incredibly proud of the team we have built in Las Vegas and of our shared commitment to supporting the Southern Nevada community.

The race's footprint extends beyond race weekend. Grand Prix Plaza, the 39 acre Formula 1 attraction that serves as the event's permanent home, has become a year round destination while supporting STEM education programmes for local students.

The Las Vegas Grand Prix Foundation has also contributed more than $2 million to nonprofit organisations and community initiatives since the event's launch.

LVCVA President and CEO Steve Hill believes the race has become a signature event for the city: "Extending our partnership with Formula 1 for the next decade is a major moment for both Las Vegas and the Grand Prix.

In just three years, the race has become a signature global event, putting Las Vegas at the center of culture, competition, and entertainment during race week. As the spotlight of the world turns to Las Vegas, the event continues to reinforce our evolution as a premier sports and entertainment destination.

With the extension secured, Formula 1 has guaranteed that one of its most ambitious modern events will remain a key part of its growing presence in the United States well into the next decade.
