With Christian Horner officially out at Red Bull, speculation has already turned to what comes next for the sport’s most decorated team boss.
According to bookmakers, Ferrari has emerged as the early favourite to become Horner’s next Formula 1 home. This after his 20-year reign at Red Bull
ended on Wednesday following a turbulent 18 months marked by internal scandal, high-profile staff departures and, ultimately, a drop in on-track performance.
Now, with the 51-year-old’s future uncertain, betting firm
AceOdds has installed Ferrari as the most likely destination at 6/4 odds.
Aston Martin follows at 12/5, while Cadillac—set to enter the grid in 2026—is third on the list at 5/1. Alpine and Williams are both priced at 16/1, while Sauber and Haas sit further out at 22/1 and 25/1 respectively. A return to the paddock via Mercedes or McLaren is seen as highly improbable, each at 33/1.
A spokesperson for AceOdds commented: “With Christian Horner and Red Bull parting ways after 20 years, the F1 world is debating what could be next for the 51-year-old and whether Horner could take on a role with another team."
Horner can pick his team
“Ferrari leads the way in the market for which team Horner will join next at odds of 6/4 ahead of Aston Martin at 12/5 and Cadillac at 5/1. In terms of outsiders, Mercedes and McLaren are currently 33/1 to appoint Horner which looks unlikely at this stage ahead of RB at 50/1," explained the spokesperson.
While Horner has not yet commented publicly on his next move, his emotional farewell to Red Bull staff on Wednesday made clear he remains committed to the sport. In his own words, the Milton Keynes outfit was “the biggest privilege” of his life, and he is expected to remain employed by Red Bull GmbH in a non-operational capacity.
But with a proven record of building and running a world-beating operation, interest in Horner’s services is all but certain. Ferrari’s odds reflect persistent rumours of a leadership shake-up under CEO Benedetto Vigna, while Aston Martin’s ambitious long-term project and Cadillac’s need for experienced F1 figures both offer credible landing spots.
Whether Horner reemerges in 2026 or sooner, the F1 paddock will be watching closely.
