The current season of the F1 Grand Prix is already half over with only 7 races left to go. Currently Sebastian Vettel of Team Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton of Team Mercedes are the top two in the standings. With only 3 points keeping Hamilton at number one, it could prove to be an interesting finish as the season winds to a close.
After the summer break over, it’s time to start thinking about the championship. The remaining races are rather varied with some being historically better tracks for Vettel while others are Hamilton’s stomping grounds. This makes for a close competition making some wonder if Hamilton will be able to keep ahead of Vettel in the remaining races. Hamilton is currently leading Vettel with him winning total of 6 races so far compared to 4 for Vettel.
Last year, Hamilton finished second in points behind
Nico Rosberg of Germany. Just short of six points to take over the top spot, many believe Hamilton is pumped to not let this chance at victory slip from his grasp. Vettel finished fourth last season. A second place finish would still be an imrpvoement over 2016.
Vettel crashed in four races last year which really hurt his chances of rising higher in the standings.
Given the races left, competition between Hamilton and Vettel is fiercer than before and winning path to the championship will be a very close one. Despite the contention between Vettel and Hamilton, there is always the chance that another driver will emerge from the back and sneak in to victory. In third place is Valtteri Bottas also of Team Mercedes. Despite having a good car, Bottas is currently 41 points out of first place. It may take a miracle for him to win.
If you enjoy placing sports bets while watching F1 GP, Vettel and Hamilton are
without a doubt the safest bets but if you want the chance to win big, then betting on Bottas is the way to go.
