Bruno Senna suffered a high-speed crash during the opening practice for this weekend's 6 Hours of Silverstone World Endurance Championship round, the former Formula 1 driver crashed his no1 Rebellion on the exit of the high-speed right-hand Copse Corner.
Senna was recovered and treated at the track medical centre, where he was fitted with a boot apparatus to stabilize his injured ankle and lower leg.
The Rebellion team has assessed the damage and will attempt to ready the car for Saturday's final free practice session, but Senna will not take any further part in the on-track action this weekend.
Senna said afterwards, "The blow was very strong and I was afraid I had broken my femur, but the monocoque resisted it should be fixed for final practice and qualifying. I suffered practically nothing just a little pain in the hip area."
