Ferrari have confirmed that Team Principal Fred Vasseur will continue to lead the Scuderia in the coming Formula 1 seasons, following the signing of a multi-year contract extension.

Vasseur joined the team at the start of 2023 and has since overseen a steady rebuilding phase at Maranello, guiding Ferrari through a period of renewed focus and stability.
His extended tenure reflects Ferrari's confidence in the strategic groundwork already laid and its belief that Vasseur is the right man to lead the team back to the front.
Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna explained the timing of the extension: “Today we want to recognize what has been built and commit to what still needs to be achieved. It reflects our trust in Fred’s leadership — a trust rooted in shared ambition, mutual expectations and clear responsibility. We move forward with determination and focus, united in our pursuit of the level of performance Ferrari has to aim for.”
Under Vasseur’s leadership, Ferrari have emphasized unity, performance gains and operational refinement, even if race-winning consistency has yet to fully materialize. The team believes that the foundations now in place will yield results in the near future.
For Vasseur, the renewal is both a recognition and a motivator: “I’m grateful for the trust Ferrari continues to place in me. This renewal is not just a confirmation — it’s a challenge to keep progressing, to stay focused, and to deliver. Over the past 30 months, we’ve laid strong foundations, and now we must build on them with consistency and determination. We know what’s expected, and we’re all fully committed to meeting those expectations and taking the next step forward together.”
The decision to extend Vasseur’s contract comes at a pivotal time for Ferrari, with 2026’s major technical regulations looming and the Scuderia’s works partnership with engine supplier HP now in effect. The commitment signals long-term intent as the team works toward re-establishing itself as a consistent title contender.
