Kimi Raikkonen has said that the decision on his future in Formula 1 will be in his hands, with the Finn out of contract in the off-season.
Raikkonen is half way through his third season with Alfa Romeo and turns 42 before the end of the 2021 campaign.
He and teammate Antonio Giovinazzi have not been guaranteed for next year as of yet, but Raikkonen has now revealed that whether he continues for another season is up to him.
"Obviously, the decision will be in my hands, if I want to go on or not, it is completely my decision in the first place," he said.
"I haven’t really thought about it too much. I will go as I feel and see what happens and not stress about any of it. We will see."
Raikkonen has picked up two tenth place finishes this season and sits with two points after 11 races, but lamented that there are "always some faster cars" able to take points away from Alfa Romeo.
""We have some tracks we can be in tenth but usually we are just out of it," he added. "Normally when we try to fight, there is always some faster cars but we will keep trying and we will see what we can do."
