Mercedes announced on Monday that their 2024 Formula 1 challenger, the Mercedes-AMG F1 W15 E Performance will be launched on Valentine's day.
Mercedes have now joined Ferrari, Williams, Stake, and
Aston Martin in announcing the launch date of their 2024 F1 cars.
Mercedes said they will reveal their new car "via a digital launch event broadcast live from Silverstone" while the launch will be available over the team's social media channels.
The eight-time F1 Constructors' Champions are looking to bounce back with their 2024 F1 car after two disappointing seasons in 2022 and 2023, where they finished third and second respectively in the Constructors' Championship, far from being a disaster for any other team, but not something a team like Mercedes are used to or aspire to achieve.
Mercedes will be looking to change their design philosophy with the new car which should be a departure from the "zeropod" concept they debuted at the start of the "ground effect" era in 2022, which turned out to be a disaster.
The team went into 2023 with the same concept, a grave mistake, as despite some slight improvement, the Brackley squad struggled with their woeful W14.
Technical changes saw Mike Elliott leave the role of Technical Director to Chief Technical Officer, then leaving the team altogether, while James Allison took over the Technical Director role tasked with the mission of the steering the team back into competitiveness.
Mercedes will compete in the 2024 F1 season with an unchanged lineup featuring seven-time F1 Champions Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.
