Mercedes and Haas announced on Tuesday morning that they will not take part in the second day of running of Barcelona's private shakedown for the 2026 Formula 1 cars.

The reason for Mercedes' withdrawal is forecasted rain for the afternoon, which means the team will not be able to gather any useful data from their brand new W17.
Mercedes issued a statement saying: "With rain forecast for this afternoon, we've opted to postpone our second day of running and therefore won't be on track today."
Mercedes enjoyed a great start to the 2026 F1 season and the new era of regulations as their W17 appeared bulletproof, with George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli racking up 149 laps.
Alpine, also using Mercedes power, ran for 60 laps with Franco Colapinto at the wheel of the A526.
Haas, on the other hand claimed sitting out Tuesday was already planned to analyze data collected on Monday which is quite a lot as they ran 154 laps.
Running started on Monday in damp and cold conditions, but things got better as the day progressed.
Aside from Mercedes and Haas, five other teams ran on Monday: Red Bull Racing, Racing Bulls, Alpine, Cadillac, and Audi.
McLaren and Ferrari were absent, as they announced earlier that they will not be present on the first day as per their car-development program.
Williams will not be present in Barcelona at all, while Aston Martin announced late on Monday afternoon that they will only take part in the final two days.
While Audi and Cadillac struggled to accumulate laps, the existing teams seem to have done a decent job with their power units and cars, as they ended Monday with some impressive mileage.
With Mercedes and Haas pulling out from Tuesday's running, it remains to be seen how the other teams react to the situation.
We will keep you updated with any news from the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya as soon as we receive any information from the teams.
