Ferrari make Barcelona debut with Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen takes over at Red Bull

Ferrari were clear they would not run on the first day of the private Barcelona shakedown.

Since they launched their car online last week, Ferrari have only run their SF-26 for a handful of laps shared between Lewis Hamilton and Leclerc at the team's private track at Fiorano.

And while the weather forecast for the second day (Tuesday) made Mercedes sit out the day, Ferrari took to the track with their SF-26.

Hamilton is yet to have a new race engineer as a replacement for Riccardo Adami but will enjoy the services of Leclerc's engineer, Bryan Bozzi.

Ferrari are aiming to have a new race engineer for the seven-time F1 Champion in time for the first official pre-season test in Bahrain between February 11 and 13.

There have been several names being circulated in the media regarding Hamilton's new engineer.

Going back to Barcelona, Haas also will not run according to their original plan, while Red Bull Racing joined the action with four-time F1 Champion Max Verstappen at the wheel after Isack Hadjar was on duty on Monday, topping the timing screens with 107 laps under his belt.

At the time of writing this report, McLaren have not yet made their track debut. They haven't even delivered any update on their running plan, as it appeared the only Ferrari and Red Bull Racing were running.

After some early running in dry conditions on Tuesday, rain arrived at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which will no doubt put a spanner in the teams' running on the second day.

It appears for now that, aside from Ferrari and Red Bull Racing, no other team will venture out on track.
