Red Bull consultant Helmut Marko admitted the teams faces hurdles as they prepared for the 2022 Formula 1 season, with their 2021 Title fight, as well as the new regulations being the reason.

Red Bull was locked in an intense title fight with Mercedes in 2021, that went down to the wire at the controversial Abu Dhabi season finale, the result being Max Verstappen a World Champion, as Mercedes took the Constructors' title.
That meant, the Milton Keynes outfit had to push on with their car development till the last minute, with that undoubtedly effecting their preparations for 2022, something Helmut Marko echoed in his interview with Kleine Zeitung.
"We faced two or three big hurdles [in preparing for 2022]," he said. "It was the biggest change in regulations in the last 15 or 20 years.
"All the new designs and planning had to be done within the budget cap, and then we were fighting for a World Championship and had to move the new car forward at the same time," the Austrian explained.

The RB18 a presentation only

Red Bull revealed their 2022 F1 car, the RB18 on February 9, but as it turned out, the it was more of livery reveal than an actual car, with team boss Christian Horner admitting that the final RB18 "won't look very much like" the launch car.
"That was a presentation for the time being. It’s especially important for our partners," Marko said of the matter.
"The first roll-out will take place later", he went on. "And until the first race in Bahrain, there will be some changes.
"We don’t reveal everything at the presentation, there are still some updates to come," the 78-year-old concluded.
