According to a just-released report, globally, fans in Europe enjoy the most comfortable Formula 1 viewing timezone. With many ten races (if one includes Baku) held on the continent, Central European Time (CET residents can watch 19 of the 24 races at ideal times.
South African Formula 1 fans are close behind with 17 events in the ideal window. By contrast, fans in Asia and Oceania face the toughest timezone challenge.
Only four races suit viewers in Australia’s Eastern Standard Time (EST), while those in China will see just seven races at ideal times and endure 17 during the most difficult hours.
Formula 1 fans on the East Coast of the United States will enjoy the most convenient viewing schedule in the country this season, according to a new study by Time2Play.
With the 2025 Formula 1 season in full swing and 24 races scheduled across multiple time zones,
Time2play analysed the global calendar to determine which regions have the most viewer-friendly start times.
The findings revealed that races airing between 12 PM and 9 PM local time fall into the “ideal” category, while early morning or overnight events are considered the most inconvenient.
East Coast fans in the Eastern Time zone can look forward to nine races within that ideal window and only four events starting between midnight and 3 AM. That makes them the least sleep-deprived F1 supporters in the United States this year.
West Coast fans in the PST will have the toughest schedule, with 13 races falling in the “worst” range of 10 PM to 7 AM.
Alaskans fare no better, with 13 late or early starts of their own. Mountain and Central time zone fans sit in the middle ground, with five to seven races falling into the most inconvenient slots.
