Formula 1 continues to attract strong interest from American corporations, with the number of U.S.-based partners holding steady at an all-time high in 2024, according to the latest Spomotion Analytics Formula 1 Partnership Analyses Report.
Despite a deceleration in the rapid growth of the sport Stateside seen in 2022, when over 40 new U.S. partnerships were announced, American involvement in Formula 1 remains significant. In 2023, 19 new U.S. partnerships were confirmed, and 2024 is already at 17, just one short of setting a new historical record.
The report highlights the involvement of major U.S. firms including Amazon, American Express, AT&T, Cisco, Exxon, Google, HP, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, Philip Morris, Salesforce, and VISA as current Formula 1 partners.
Björn Stenbacka, analyst at Spomotion Analytics reported: “With three races in the United States in 2025, including a season finale in Las Vegas, new U.S. partnerships are often announced around these events.
“We saw it last year, and we will likely see it again this year. As a result, we are almost certain to reach a new all-time high for U.S. company involvement in F1 in 2025," added Stenbacka.
He does not believe U.S. interest in Formula 1 is waning: “With GM and Cadillac set to join in 2026, U.S. engagement in Formula 1 is likely to continue growing.”
The tech sector remains the most prominent area of American involvement, with over 75% of all Formula 1 technology partners being U.S.-based. McLaren Racing, led by American CEO Zak Brown, tops the list with the highest number of overall and U.S.-based partners, more than half of which are American companies.
This weekend, the 'circus' is in Miami for the first of three visits to the country during the 24-race 2025 Formula 1 World Championship season. The Organisers of the race in the Florida state, have inked a deal to keep the race in the city until 2041.
