July promises to mean a lot in the F1 schedule. It happens to fall just in the middle of the season, right before the summer hiatus, and there is a relevant triple-header on the menu: the triplet of races in England, Belgium, and Hungary that could actually decide the season.

How is the season going? As everyone who knows just a little bit of F1 is well aware, there is a clear leader this year. Mercedes is miles ahead of its competition, and it seems that every race is only a matter of Russell versus Antonelli: which one will win today?
The constructors’ championship is firmly in Toto Wolff’s hands, with Ferrari sitting 70 points behind. However, in Maranello, they believe they could have a chance if they manage to somehow close the gap before August, putting two drivers on the podium in each one of July’s GP.
With three races in quick succession, during such a busy stretch of the season, attention is growing around the GP weekends, as is the general interest in the dynamics of the sport and related analysis. Platforms like oddschecker are used by bettors and enthusiasts to compare information and offers available in the world of sports betting and online entertainment. F1 fans can find news, stats, times, and records at their fingertips, simply by checking the platform out.
The top contenders must find their top condition before the three GPs of the summer, because losing points in this specific month could ultimately mean losing out on one or both championships. This is obviously true for Ferrari and McLaren, the teams that could try to give Mercedes some problems. Should they fail, the season could really be closed down before the end of the summer.
The July Grand Prixes are quite different from one another. Silverstone is a technical circuit, very fast, where aerodynamics is key, and some effort is required from the driver: he must keep stable and firm on very quick turns. Spa-Francorchamps is quite the opposite.

Three different circuits, three similar races

It is a long racetrack where unpredictability lurks behind every corner, and weather conditions usually have the last word. Hungaroring sits in the middle between the two: it’s a slow track but very technical. Here, tire management is of paramount importance, and the aerodynamics must be studied to the tiniest detail.
No matter the differences, the drivers who are not leading the table must face every GP in the same way. From the British Grand Prix, which opens the month of July, to the Hungaroring weekend, they must go full throttle, or they will end up breathing from the Mercedes’ exhausts, as has happened until now.

How much will July matter in the greater picture?

If Kimi Antonelli keeps raising the bar (as he promised), the month of July could really become extremely important for the conclusion of the season.
The championship is assigned over 22 rounds (we lost two this year, because of the geopolitical situation in the Middle East that led to the delay of the GPs in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia) and in July we will watch round 11 (Great Britain); 12 (Belgium), and 13 (Hungary), so we’ll reach and overtake the midway point of the World Championship.
The gap between drivers could be relevant at that point, so relevant that these races could end up being almost meaningless in the bigger picture. We hope that this won’t be the case.
There isn’t any fun in watching GPs decided from the get-go, and we all want to see a competitive championship, where several drivers fight for the top spot, instead of chasing after someone clearly faster than them.
