Ferrari arrive in Brazil for the São Paulo Grand Prix looking to build on two strong performances in Austin and Mexico, with 58 points up for grabs in the penultimate Sprint weekend of the Formula 1 season.

Team principal Fred Vasseur said Ferrari are ready for the physical and mental demands of the compact format at Interlagos, where just one free practice session precedes Sprint Qualifying.
He explained: “At Interlagos, we will tackle the fifth Sprint weekend of the season, which means another interesting test for the whole team, both physically and mentally. In this compact format, every detail matters, from the preparation work in Maranello to the real-time support from the remote garage.”
Vasseur added that Ferrari’s form in recent races provides confidence heading into Brazil: “We come to Brazil with a positive attitude, off the back of two solid weekends in Austin and Mexico, where we maximised the potential of the car and the goal now is to keep this momentum going, focus on execution, and be ready to react to whatever weather conditions we encounter in São Paulo.”
The race takes place at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace, a circuit that captures the essence of Formula 1. With its mix of fast straights, technical corners and unpredictable weather, Interlagos has long produced some of the sport’s most dramatic races.

Ferrari has not won at Interlagos since 2008

The Reds last won at Interlagos when Felipe Massa won for them, on a bittersweet day, triumphing at home but losing the 2008 Formula 1 world title battle to Lewis Hamilton.
The track’s 4.3 kilometres include sharp elevation changes and a combination of slow and fast corners that demand aerodynamic balance and driver precision. The opening sequence from the Senna S to Descida do Lago offers key overtaking chances, while the twisty middle sector tests traction and control.
The run from Junção to the finish line provides one of the best overtaking zones of the season, where drivers push for maximum speed before braking hard into Turn 1.
With just four rounds remaining in 2025, Ferrari’s focus in São Paulo will be on extracting every point possible from the Sprint format as the season enters its final phase, so as to salvage a largely underwhelming second season of Vasseur's leadership.
On 356 points, Ferrari are in a tight battle for P2 in the 2025 F1 Constructors Championship, with a point separating Mercedes, who are on 355 points in P2 and Red Bull on 346 points.
