Max Verstappen has been on an upward curve recently as he is maximizing the potential of his improved RB21 and targets to continue this trend this weekend at the 2025 United States Grand Prix.

At the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, which Verstappen won from pole, Red Bull appeared to have found a way to "deal" with their RB21 following a floor upgrade, and that trend continued into the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which the four-time Formula 1 Champion also won from pole.
But the real test for the breakthrough the Milton Keynes squad found came at the Singapore Grand Prix, to which they brought a new front wing which seemed to cure the front-end issues the RB21 displayed on high downforce tracks with slow corners.
And while Verstappen could not win a third time in a row in Singapore—George Russell and Mercedes emerged as the package to beat—he managed to qualify second, which is also where he finished after gearshift issues meant he was not able to challenge Russell while managing to finish ahead of both McLarens, who, despite securing the 2025 F1 Constructors' Championship, struggled for pace relative to their usual top form.
As the F1 circus heads to the Circuit of the Americas this weekend, Red Bull and Verstappen are expected to be strong, which also applies to McLaren.

Austin should be a bit better than Singapore?

Verstappen is confident of a decent result in Austin based on the recent improvement in his RB21 and said ahead of the race: "We made a positive step in Singapore.
"We have had a strong run of races recently and want to keep up the momentum, and hopefully this weekend we can do a bit better.
"I have been back at the factory this week preparing on the sim," the Dutchman revealed, "and the Team has been pushing really hard, and we have been analyzing where we can improve.
"This circuit is about finding the right compromise in setup between straight-line speed and downforce for the fast sweeping corners, and the bumps can always make things tricky too.
"It's another Sprint weekend, so we'll have to get on top of things quickly, as there is less time to fine-tune things, but this will be a challenge for everyone," Verstappen concluded.
Verstappen is 63 points shy of Oscar Piastri in the 2025 F1 Drivers' Championship and will be looking to capitalize on McLaren intra-team battles between the Australian and his teammate, Lando Norris, as he still has a mathematical chance to secure a fifth F1 Drivers' Crown.
