We have reported earlier that the relationship between Max Verstappen and his longtime race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase is set to end.

Earlier reports have claimed that Lambiase was not keen on too much travel anymore, having missed a couple of races during the 2025 Formula 1 season—Austria and Belgium.
But it was assumed that Lambiase, who was Verstappen's engineer since the latter joined Red Bull Racing back in 2016, was going to shift into another role within the Milton Keynes organization.
However, fresh reports now claim that Lambiase is in talks with other teams, namely Williams and Aston Martin.
Although there are no details, some media outlets reported that a move to Williams could be announced by Christmas following talks between Lambiase and team boss James Vowles, who has been working hard on reviving the once-great F1 team.
Obviously that did not happen, as now there are more reports that Lambiase may be on his way to be reunited with former Red Bull technical boss Adrian Newey, who is now team principal and managing technical director at Aston Martin.
The news of Newey taking over the team principal roles came as a bit of a surprise given the Briton's personality and preference to limit his work to the design aspect of the business.
Former boss Andy Cowell took on another strategic role in which he will be coordinating the efforts with Honda, Valvoline, and Aramco, something that requires a background in power units, something the former Mercedes engine boss has in abundance.
As such, Christian Horner and even Andreas Seidl were reportedly in talks with Aston Martin to take over the team boss role, with Newey acting as a seat warmer.
But now Lambiase is linked with Aston Martin without any details about the nature of the job he will take on should he make the move.
