Formula 1 will implement its summer break period some time over the next six weeks, according to reports.
With much in the world of motorsport already on hiatus due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, RACER is reporting that the sport's decision-makers are preparing to start the mandatory shutdown of team factories as early as next week.
Normally teams would shut down for a fortnight during a three-week window in August, but under the new plan, they would shut down for three weeks now, while the original period would be freed-up to potentially reschedule races affected by the coronavirus outbreak.
According to BBC 5 Live reporter Jennie Gow, the proposal has been unpopular with team personnel as many will lose family and holiday time they can't realistically take now while in quarantine.
Nevertheless, the move is reported to have the approval of all ten F1 teams.
