Ferrari has sent its entire team from Melbourne into quarantine after the Australian Grand Prix, taking the precaution as COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc across Italy.
Despite no cases having been reported at the Scuderia, the decision was taken to minimise exposure during a period when Italian health services are being stretched to the limit.
Under the measures, all Ferrari personnel who travelled to Melbourne must self-isolate for 14 days, with the company offering hotel rooms to those who are unable to stay at home.
Having already shut down its factories in Modena and Maranello amidst the outbreak, the quarantine means Ferrari's F1 operation is essentially in complete shutdown until at least the end of March, regardless of whether the sport enacts an official 'summer break' period or not.
In related news, the Agnelli family -- who through holding company EXOR control Ferrari -- have pledged 10 million euros to assist the Italian government in procuring medical devices to combat the spread of the virus.
